The ideal candidate:

• Ideally has a proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  
  
• Has experience managing complex construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
  
  
• Has strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, tender processes, valuations, variations and final accounts
  
  
• Has experience working with JCT contracts
  
  
• Is commercially astute, highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
  
  
• Can provide sound contractual advice and confidently manage commercial risk
  
  
• Has excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
  
  
• Can lead, mentor and develop junior members of the commercial team
  
  
• Is happy to work across sites in the North West
  
  

Duties will include:

• Leading the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion
  
  
• Taking ownership of projects and work packages of varying size, complexity and value
  
  
• Managing cost, contractual and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle
  
  
• Procuring subcontractors and materials and managing subcontract packages through to final account
  
  
• Preparing and managing valuations, variations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts
  
  
• Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
  
  
• Providing commercial and contractual guidance to operational and site teams
  
  
• Attending and contributing to internal project meetings, client meetings and wider stakeholder discussions
  
  
• Building strong working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and project teams
  
  
• Maintaining accurate project records and ensuring commercial documentation is managed in line with company procedures
  
  
• Managing, mentoring and supporting Quantity Surveyors at all levels, including Trainee and Project Quantity Surveyors
  
  
• Supporting the wider commercial team and contributing to the continued growth of the business
