Project Officer - #2120372
Consula Group LTD
Consula is recruiting a Project Officer on behalf of a Manchester-based client. This is a client-employed position, with the successful candidate joining the hiring organisation directly.
The client is looking for an organised and proactive Project Officer to help bring structure, coordination and momentum to a varied programme of work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across teams, building strong relationships and turning plans into well-managed activity.
You will play a central role in supporting the smooth delivery of projects from initial planning through to implementation and review. The work will be varied and requires someone who is comfortable balancing detail with the bigger picture: managing documentation, following up on actions, supporting meetings, monitoring progress and ensuring that the right people have the right information at the right time.
About the role
As Project Officer, you will support colleagues and stakeholders to deliver projects that are purposeful, well organised and focused on agreed outcomes. You will help create and maintain clear project plans, identify potential risks and dependencies, and ensure actions are followed through in a timely way.
You will be trusted to coordinate routine project activity independently while knowing when to seek advice or escalate an issue. You will communicate confidently with a range of people, from operational colleagues to senior stakeholders, and will be able to present information clearly in writing and in meetings.
This role would suit someone with a strong administrative and coordination background who is ready to take ownership of project processes and contribute to a team that values practical problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
•Support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion.
•Maintain accurate project plans, action logs, risk registers, decision records and supporting documentation.
•Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and papers, record actions and ensure agreed next steps are followed up.
•Produce clear project updates, progress reports, briefing notes and presentations for colleagues and stakeholders.
•Monitor key milestones, dependencies, risks and issues, escalating concerns appropriately and helping to identify practical solutions.
•Work collaboratively with internal teams, delivery partners, suppliers and other stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
•Collect, organise and analyse relevant project information to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
•Support the development and improvement of project-management processes, templates and reporting arrangements.
•Ensure information is handled appropriately and that project records are organised, accessible and up to date.
•Contribute positively to a professional, collaborative and delivery-focused working environment.
About you
You will have experience in project coordination, programme support, operations, service delivery or a similar role. You will be highly organised and able to manage a range of tasks without losing sight of deadlines, quality or the needs of stakeholders.
You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, good attention to detail and confidence using standard office systems, spreadsheets, presentation software and project-management tools. You will be comfortable preparing clear written updates and translating complex information into practical actions.
You will be someone who takes pride in being reliable, solution-focused and easy to work with. You do not need to have held the title of Project Officer previously, but you should be able to demonstrate experience of coordinating activity, managing information and helping projects or services move forward.
Experience of working in a regulated, public-facing, community, housing, education, health, public-sector or professional-services environment would be useful, but is not essential.
A relevant qualification in project management, business administration, public services or a related field is desirable. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
What the client offers
The successful candidate will join a supportive Manchester-based team and have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work with visible outcomes. The client offers a professional environment where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop their skills and take pride in delivering high-quality work.
