Description
The Banking Legal Counsel will be:
- Lead and support lending and bridge finance transactions, including structuring, negotiating, and executing finance documentation, funding arrangements, and short-term lending products.
- Provide commercially focused legal advice, identifying and managing legal, regulatory, and transactional risks across lending activities.
- Develop and maintain lending documentation, precedents, legal processes, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Investment, Underwriting, Credit, Operations, and Legal) and external stakeholders to ensure efficient transaction delivery and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Manage multiple matters simultaneously, delivering high-quality, accurate legal support and service.
Profile
The Banking Legal Counsel should be:
- A solicitor or equivalent with 4+ years' PQE gained in banking, finance, secured lending or real estate finance.
- Experienced in drafting and negotiating finance documentation and transactional agreements.
- Knowledgeable in bridge lending, secured lending structures and real estate finance transactions.
- Able to manage matters independently while effectively engaging with a range of stakeholders.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experienced in private practice, in-house, or another relevant legal environment.
Job Offer
- Salary between £80,000 and £85,000
