TPP Recruitment is supporting a well-established and highly respected charity based in Manchester to recruit an Employment & Skills Coordinator. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, immigration-related challenges and other forms of disadvantage, helping them build confidence, skills and independence.


Salary: £27,344 - £29,439 per annum, dependent on experience
Employment type: 2-year fixed term contract
Working arrangements: On site (Manchester)
Working pattern: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00)

Our client is a long-established charity with over 30 years of experience supporting people facing homelessness and multiple disadvantages. Through a wide range of services, they provide practical support, training opportunities, volunteering programmes and pathways into employment.

About the Role

The Employment & Skills Coordinator will lead and coordinate a well-established employment and skills programme, supporting individuals to access employment, education, volunteering, training and digital inclusion opportunities.

Working closely with internal colleagues and external partners, you will help create joined-up pathways that enable people to progress at a pace that works for them. This is a highly visible role within a busy community setting, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and supporting people with diverse and often complex needs.

The successful candidate will bring existing experience in employability and employment support, allowing them to make an immediate impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop employment, skills and progression programmes
  • Support individuals to access employment, training, qualifications and volunteering opportunities
  • Deliver one-to-one coaching and facilitate group-based employability activities
  • Build and maintain partnerships with employers, training providers, education organisations and community partners
  • Create sustainable routes into employment and skills development for programme participants
  • Monitor participant outcomes and maintain accurate records and reporting data
  • Promote digital inclusion and support access to appropriate resources
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver joined-up support services
  • Contribute to the wider frontline service and support organisational objectives


Skills / Experience Required

  • Experience within employability, employment support, skills development, careers guidance or a related field
  • Experience supporting individuals who face barriers to employment or education
  • Strong employer engagement, partnership development or stakeholder management experience
  • Experience delivering one-to-one support and facilitating workshops or group sessions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience monitoring outcomes and maintaining accurate records
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office 365 and digital systems
