Housing Officer

We are seeking a Housing Officer to join our team in Manchester. This role involves delivering high-quality support to service users, managing risks through assessment, and creating tailored plans that consider individual needs. The successful candidate will work closely with both statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure comprehensive support for the vulnerable residents of Manchester.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Establish and maintain relationships with service users to challenge and change existing patterns of behaviour.
- Work proactively with stakeholders to assess individual needs and ensure positive outcomes.
- Provide support and advice to service users, facilitating engagement with appropriate local and national services.
- Monitor, evaluate, and review assessments regularly to adjust plans and ensure service users can achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to produce plans that reduce vulnerability and enhance service user independence.
- Promote service strategies within the organisation and to external agencies.
- Participate in initiatives with partner agencies to support independence and opportunities for vulnerable residents.
- Maintain accurate records and systems for effective data collection and performance management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in social work, community support, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Proven ability to manage and assess risks and create effective support plans.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to promoting diversity and ensuring equal access and treatment in all aspects of service delivery and employment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- May require management duties, including direct line management or matrix management of a team.
