The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Law Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEX) to join a well-established and supportive Family Law team.

Our client is seeking a motivated and confident legal professional with between 1 and 5 years' PQE who is comfortable managing their own caseload and delivering high-quality legal advice to clients.

The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of privately funded and legally aided family law matters, with a particular focus on divorce, financial disputes and relationship breakdowns.

Please note: This position does not involve Child Law or Care Proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an independent caseload of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy proceedings, civil partnership disputes and matters involving unmarried or cohabiting couples.
• Provide clear, practical and professional legal advice to clients throughout their cases.
• Undertake advocacy and represent clients where appropriate.
• Respond to new client enquiries and assist with initial consultations.
• Prepare legal documentation, applications and correspondence, ensuring matters progress efficiently.
• Handle Legal Aid funding applications and associated requirements.
• Participate in client advice sessions and community legal advice initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with external organisations and professional contacts.
• Contribute to business development, networking and marketing activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining responsibility for your own caseload.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEX) status.
• Between 1 and 5 years' PQE in Family Law.
• Previous experience independently managing a family law caseload.
• Experience in divorce, financial remedy matters and associated family disputes.
• Advocacy experience and confidence representing clients.
• Excellent communication, organisation and client care skills.
• A proactive, commercially aware and professional approach.
• A willingness to participate in community advice initiatives and contribute to business development.

Experience dealing with Legal Aid matters would be advantageous.
