Technical Support Analyst – Manchester (Hybrid) – SQL, JavaScript, SaaS
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Job type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: up to £40,000 + comprehensive benefits
We’re hiring a Technical Support Analyst for a well-established AdTech business in Manchester. Its platform processes a billion website hits a week and powers TV advertising campaigns for major UK brands and agencies. If you like digging into data, know some SQL and JavaScript, and want a technical support role that uses them every day, this is worth a look.
About the role
This is the business’s first dedicated support hire. You’ll report to the Head of Technical Support and take on a large share of the client work they currently handle themselves, from technical onboarding to explaining campaign results.
This isn’t a de-skilled ticket-closing job. You’ll start by shadowing, then own defined categories of query, and your scope will grow as you learn the platform. Support is also moving to a single ticketing system backed by an internal wiki, so you’ll have a real hand in shaping how the function works.
What you’ll be doing
- Resolving client support queries using documented processes, and escalating with clear notes when needed
- Running technical onboarding: supplying tracking tags, checking installs and reconciling data with the client’s own
- Troubleshooting tracking issues using the browser developer tools console
- Writing MySQL queries to check data and find gaps across systems
- Setting up dashboards, managing user access and delivering platform training
- Helping clients understand their attribution results, including on calls
- Maintaining the internal wiki of standard operating procedures
What you’ll bring
- Basic JavaScript: enough to read console errors and diagnose a broken tag
- Reasonable SQL (ideally MySQL)
- Strong numeracy, with a working grasp of statistics and probability
- Clear, patient communication with clients
- A methodical approach: following processes, recording what you’ve checked, knowing when to escalate
Nice to have
- A degree in maths, physics, computer science or another numerate subject
- Some software development, application support or technical support experience
- HubSpot or similar ticketing experience
- An interest in advertising, marketing analytics or data-heavy products
What’s on offer
- Up to £40,000 plus comprehensive benefits
- Hybrid working from Manchester
- A first-of-its-kind role with a clear path to widen your scope
- Close work with a development team of around 10 on a commercially successful product
Process: Screening call → Interview with a Director.
Strong on the essentials but don’t tick every nice-to-have? Apply anyway.
