Information Access Officer - #2172272

Are you experienced in handling subject access, freedom of information requests or information governance?This independent regulatory body based in Manchester city centre are looking for an Information Access Officer to join their busy team on a 2 year fixed term contract to ensure information requests are handled efficiently and within timescales.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of SARs, FOI requests from receipt through to completion.
• Research, review, collate and organise information held across systems and records.
• Assess information for disclosure and accurately apply relevant exemptions, restrictions and redactions where required.
• Produce clear, accurate and compliant responses within SLA's
• Respond professionally to queries from both external requesters and internal colleagues with professional written correspondence.
• Provide guidance and promote best practice on information access matters.
• Maintain accurate records and audit trails using electronic case management systems.
• Keep up to date with developments in legislation, case law and professional guidance to maintain subject matter expertise.

About You

• Experience managing SARs and/or FOI requests to completion
• Working knowledge of UK Data Protection legislation and the Freedom of Information Act
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong analytical skills to handle high volumes of sensitive information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
