Summit Rec2Rec

Sales Development Representative

Manchester | Entry–Junior Level

Client: Sales & Recruitment Consultancy | SaaS & Tech Start-ups

Most people don't plan a career in sales recruitment. But those who find it? They can build seriously rewarding careers.

Earn strong money early

Progress quickly

Build relationships with ambitious founders and senior professionals

Get under the skin of some of the most exciting start-ups in the market

The Opportunity

Summit Rec2Rec has partnered with a high-performing Sales & Recruitment Consultancy that works with SaaS start-ups to help them build and scale their sales teams. Think CleanTech , HealthTech , SportTech and Tech for Good ; ambitious, fast-growing businesses with big ideas and even bigger revenue targets.

You'll work behind the scenes to identify and engage the talent that helps these businesses grow, partnering with founders and recruitment specialists to find the people who can make a real commercial impact.

This isn't a traditional, run-of-the-mill recruitment role. It's an opportunity to bring your existing sales skills into a fast-paced, commercially driven environment where curiosity, confidence and the ability to connect with people really matter.

The Role

This is your chance to fast-track your career into one of the most commercially rewarding areas of recruitment: SaaS and technology talent search. You'll identify and engage Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product and Engineering professionals for some of the most exciting technology start-ups in the market.

And here's the difference...

Your focus is search, sourcing and candidate engagement.

That means no starting from scratch trying to win clients through cold business development. Instead, you'll work on live recruitment mandates, mapping markets, headhunting talent and building pipelines of exceptional professionals across the go-to-market and product functions of high-growth SaaS businesses. You'll use your sales instincts to spark conversations, build relationships and turn potential candidates into genuine opportunities.

If you enjoy speaking to people, thrive on targets and love the buzz of turning a conversation into a result, this could be right up your street.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Find the talent: Source and engage mid-to-senior-level candidates across Sales (AEs, AMs, SDRs, Sales Directors and VPs), Marketing, Operations, Product Management and Software Engineering.
  • Become a headhunting pro: Run targeted search campaigns across LinkedIn, job boards, databases and your growing professional network.
  • Have quality conversations: Conduct structured candidate interviews and produce detailed assessment reports for hiring managers.
  • Build your pipeline: Manage talent pipelines across multiple live mandates in fast-moving SaaS start-up environments.
  • Become a market specialist: Develop in-depth knowledge of the SaaS landscape — the businesses, the people and the skills shaping the industry.
  • Work with the best: Partner closely with senior consultants and client leads to deliver high-quality shortlists that hit the brief.

Who We're Looking For

This opportunity is ideal for someone who already has a foundation in sales and wants to take their commercial skills in a new direction. You might have 6–18 months' experience as an SDR, BDR or Inside Sales Representative and be ready for a fresh challenge.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working towards activity targets, managing a pipeline and converting conversations into outcomes.
  • The ability to match the pace of SaaS start-ups — it's a different world, and you'll need to enjoy the energy that comes with it.
  • Confidence picking up the phone and engaging senior professionals in a compelling, credible way.
  • Strong written communication skills — your outreach messages get noticed and, more importantly, get replies.
  • A genuine interest in SaaS, technology and the start-up ecosystem.
  • A competitive streak and the motivation to keep improving your performance.

Your Personality Matters: Skills can be taught. The right mindset, energy and attitude are what will make you stand out.

High energy

This business moves fast, and the people in it move faster. You bring energy into a room, not out of it. You enjoy conversations, thrive on the phone and come alive around people. If you're naturally outgoing and love a fast-paced environment, you'll feel at home here.

Humble, but with a big ego

You back yourself. You want to be the best at what you do, and you're hungry to prove yourself. But you don't need to shout about it. Arrogance won't get you far here; quiet confidence, coachability and a genuine desire to improve will.

Genuinely curious

You ask the questions others don't think to ask. You want to understand why people make decisions, what makes a business tick and what's happening in the market. You're interested in people, switched on to what's going on around you and always looking to learn — not because someone tells you to, but because it's in your nature.

Driven by results

You enjoy having goals to work towards and seeing the results of your effort. You understand that consistency matters, setbacks are part of the process and success comes from keeping your standards high.

A natural communicator

You can build rapport, hold your own in a conversation and adapt your approach to different personalities. You don't need to know everything from day one, but you do need the confidence to engage, ask questions and learn quickly.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive base salary + uncapped commission — your earning potential grows with your performance.
  • Full training and development — learn search methodology, candidate engagement and the SaaS talent landscape.
  • Become a specialist — build a career as a researcher and market expert, develop your own niche and grow a valuable professional network.
  • A high-energy, metrics-driven culture — ideal for someone who understands the buzz of targets, activity and performance.
  • Exposure to the SaaS start-up ecosystem — get closer to the companies, people and commercial conversations shaping the future of technology.
  • A platform to grow — build on your existing sales experience and develop specialist skills in a commercially focused industry.
