A leading Retail Organisation in Manchester City Centre is seeking a Payroll Co-Coordinator to join their dedicated People Services team. As a Payroll Co-Ordinator based in Manchester City Centre, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple cycles. Your day-to-day activities will involve verifying data integrity, troubleshooting discrepancies, producing insightful reports, and collaborating with Finance for month-end accuracy. You will also stay abreast of legislative changes to ensure compliance is maintained at all times. In addition to core payroll duties, you will support HR initiatives such as annual reviews and bonus processes within the HRIS system.


Key duties include:

  • Manage multiple payroll cycles with precision, ensuring all deadlines are met and data is processed accurately for starters, leavers, and amendments.
  • Verify payroll data meticulously before each run, troubleshooting discrepancies to maintain compliance with PAYE, NI, pensions, SSP, SMP, and HMRC regulations.
  • Produce detailed payroll reports and provide clear explanations of variances to stakeholders across the business.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance to ensure seamless month-end processes and accurate financial reporting.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes affecting payroll and implement these changes effectively within the organisation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within payroll operations and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Act as the main point of contact for complex payroll queries, providing expert guidance and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll documentation and develop training materials for internal stakeholders.

You will ideally have experience in the fllowing areas:
