Are you an experienced Children's Social Care Manager with a strong background in leading statutory locality teams and driving high-level court proceedings?
Manchester City Council is recruiting an accomplished Team Manager to lead their North Court & Locality Team. Offering a premium management rate of £46.00 per hour, this role is ideal for a dedicated leader skilled in providing reflective supervision, managing complex care proceedings, and delivering excellent outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of qualified Social Workers and practitioners within the North Locality, ensuring high standards of practice and statutory compliance.
Court Proceedings & Locality Work: Maintain operational oversight of complex cases involving Public Law Outline (PLO), care proceedings, Child Protection plans, and long-term Child in Need support.
Reflective Supervision: Deliver regular, high-quality reflective supervision, support, and career development to team members to build workforce stability and performance.
Quality Assurance & Thresholds: Monitor team performance, audit practice, and apply robust threshold decision-making across all locality assessments and court reports.
Multi-Agency Leadership: Collaborate with health, education, legal services, and police partners to champion integrated, child-centred interventions.
Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
Management Experience: Proven track record as a Team Manager or Deputy Team Manager within statutory Children's Social Care (Court, Locality, Safeguarding, or Child Protection).
Legal Literacy: Deep expertise in the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations, and navigating Public/Private Law court frameworks.
Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel across the North Manchester area.
Top Hourly Rate: Earn £46.00 per hour.
