An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cash and Banking Administrator to join a highly respected organisation in Manchester, supporting a collaborative finance team with a strong reputation for excellence. Specific duties include:-
- Update cashbooks on a daily basis, ensuring all inbound and outbound transactions are accurately applied using SAGE Intacct.
- Set up weekly banking payments as directed by the Accountant or London-based Finance Team, following established procedures for authorisation.
- Review and action any daily banking requirements such as foreign exchange deals and internal transfers to maintain optimal account balances.
- Prepare daily reports on balances across all bank accounts to support effective cash flow management and decision-making.
- Action exceptional manual payment requests promptly, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained in line with delegated authority guidelines.
- Escalate queries requiring further investigation to the appropriate management team member for timely resolution.
- Prepare daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for the investment portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
- Collaborate with the wider Finance Team to minimise postings to suspense accounts and resolve outstanding items within agreed service levels.
- Support audit requests as instructed by the Shared Service Director, providing documentation and information as required.
- Contribute to process improvements by reviewing existing procedures, implementing changes where needed, and participating actively in team meetings.
Ideally you will have experience in the following areas:
- Experience working within finance, cash management, treasury, banking or shared services environments is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated ability in online banking administration including payment preparation, bank transfers, and general banking activities is highly valued.
- Proven experience maintaining cashbooks, processing receipts, and completing accurate financial records is required.
- A solid understanding of financial controls with an appreciation for compliance, accuracy, and appropriate authorisation is important.
- Familiarity with finance or accounting systems such as SAGE Intacct or SAP Concur is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn new systems is key.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong data management abilities are crucial for handling complex financial information effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills are necessary for liaising with colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are expected along with general IT literacy to support efficient workflow management.
