HR/Payroll Officer - #2155637

Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in South Manchester to recruit an experienced and organised HR & Payroll Officer to join their administrative team on a full-time, term-time-only basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong HR and payroll administration background who is looking to play a key role in supporting the school's workforce and ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and personnel processes.

As HR & Payroll Officer, you will provide administrative support across all aspects of payroll and human resources. Working closely with school leadership and the wider administration team, you will help ensure that employee records, payroll information and HR processes are managed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the preparation and administration of payroll
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation
• Assisting with staff onboarding, contracts and employment paperwork
• Processing payroll changes, absences and contractual amendments
• Supporting recruitment and safer recruitment processes
• Monitoring staff attendance and maintaining HR databases
• Responding to payroll and HR queries from staff
• Ensuring compliance with school policies and employment legislation
• Providing general administrative support to the school's HR function

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience in a HR administration, payroll administration or HR & Payroll Officer role
• Possess a good understanding of payroll processes and HR procedures
• Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Be able to handle confidential information professionally and sensitively
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be capable of managing multiple priorities and working independently

Previous experience working within a school, academy or educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.What the School Offers
