About the role

We are looking for talented Senior Architects to join our award-winning team in BDP’s Manchester

studio.  We are currently working on a number of exciting, innovative projects, and previous experience in the education and residential sectors would be an advantage when making your application. 

You will work on a range of stages of projects and have the opportunity to be client-facing from an early stage, make key design decisions, and take responsibility for driving high-quality concepts from inception through to completion. Reporting to the Studio's Architect Director, you'll work collaboratively and creatively within a team environment, developing design concepts and leading their delivery. You will mentor junior team members and take responsibility for their output, leading collaboration with other professionals and disciplines, both inside and outside the practice, to deliver highly coordinated solutions.

About you

You will be a talented, passionate, and dedicated Senior Architect, preferably in education or residential sectors. You will have an interesting portfolio demonstrating excellent design skills across a range of projects. We are interested in seeing your work in a range of media, including hand-drawings, technical delivery, and software excellence. You will also be able to communicate well, conduct briefing activities, develop concept designs, and deliver these concepts as award-winning buildings.

Essential:

• ARB-registered Architect with 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
• Project Architect skills; leading previous projects, managing design teams, and engaging with external consultants and subcontractors.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design skills across a range of relevant projects; we're interested in seeing your work across a range of media, including hand drawings, technical delivery details and software output, but also that you can deliver those concepts through to completion.
• Proven experience leading briefing, concept design and delivery through to award-winning completed buildings.
• Skilled at leading stakeholder engagement with a diverse range of clients, contractors and consultants
• Comfortable working to project programmes, with a proactive, collaborative team-working style and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels and backgrounds
• Strong IT skills, with experience delivering projects in a BIM environment (Revit preferred)

Desirable:

• Experience in the education or residential sectors.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Dynamo / Scripting skills, training can be provided to help build these skills further.
• An understanding of the regulatory environment and documenting compliance.
• Experience of delivering the CDM and Building Regulations Principal Designer duties.
