Mechanical Project Manager - Commercial Office Fit Out 

Location: Manchester / UK Wide 
Salary: £70,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension, Private Healthcare

My client is a successful Mechanical & Building Services contractor specialising in commercial and office fit-out projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager who is ready to take the next step into a Head of Projects / Senior PM position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-sufficient, ambitious and driven Mechanical PM who wants greater responsibility and the opportunity to progress within a growing business.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion, overseeing projects ranging from smaller works through to approximately £2m in value.

You will also have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility across the wider project function, working closely with senior management and helping to drive project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing mechanical projects from £10k – £2m
• Full project ownership from mobilisation through to completion
• Managing programmes, budgets, procurement and commercial performance
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Working closely with clients, consultants and main contractors
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
• Attending client and project meetings
• Managing project documentation, variations and commercial matters
• Supporting and mentoring junior project managers
• Taking increasing responsibility across the wider projects team

The Ideal Candidate

• Experienced Mechanical Project Manager from a Building Services / M&E background
• Strong commercial fit-out / office fit-out experience
• Comfortable managing projects independently
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Commercially aware with good understanding of project financials
• Ambitious and looking to progress into a Head of Projects position
• Self-sufficient, motivated and hungry to progress
• Experience managing projects up to £2m
• Ideally educated to degree/HNC/HND level, although relevant experience will be considered

• £70,000 basic salary
