A well-established and growing fire safety consultancy is looking to appoint a Fire Consultant to join their Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Consultant to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments throughout Manchester and the wider North West.

The successful Fire Consultant will provide professional fire safety advice throughout the design, construction and occupation stages of projects.

The Fire Consultant will be responsible for:

• Producing and reviewing fire strategies for new-build and existing developments

• Undertaking fire risk assessments and fire safety inspections

• Providing advice relating to Approved Document B and relevant British Standards

• Reviewing architectural and design information from a fire safety perspective

• Supporting clients, architects, contractors and design teams

• Producing clear technical reports and recommendations

• Attending design team and client meetings

• Supporting projects through Building Regulations and Gateway processes where required

The successful Fire Consultant will ideally have:

• A degree or recognised qualification in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety or a related discipline

• Experience within fire consultancy, building control or a related environment

• Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, Approved Document B and relevant guidance

• Experience preparing fire strategies and technical reports

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Membership of, or progress towards membership of, a relevant professional body such as the IFE

• A full UK driving licence would be beneficial

The appointed Fire Consultant can expect:

• £45,000-£55,000, dependent on experience
