In this role the successful Field-based Sales Manager will be able to make the job their own and manage their own day, with the majority of responsibilities involving travelling across England to develop relationships with meat wholesalers, specialist distributors and independent butchers, as well as being based in the office in Bury three days a week.

This role would suit a Field-based Sales Manager, Wholesale Account Manager or similar ideally from a Food/FMCG background who is looking for a hybrid role that offers great product training, commercial ownership and the freedom to develop new business, build distribution and make the job their own without being micro-managed.

The role:

• Developing new business with meat wholesalers, specialist distributors, catering butchers and independent high-street butchers across the UK
• Identifying gaps in distribution and developing relationships with new wholesalers and distributors
• Building demand within the butchery channel through customer visits, product presentations, sampling and prospecting
• Developing both wholesale distribution and the direct-to-store/ecommerce sales channel
• In-depth product and commercial training
• Hybrid working, normally Monday, Wednesday and Friday from the Bury office
• Brand new electric vehicle or company vehicle/car allowance
• Opportunity to take ownership of an underdeveloped sales channel and help shape the commercial strategy

The person:

• Field-based sales manager, wholesale account manager or similar from a FMCG/food backgroundExperience of selling through wholesalers or distributors would be highly advantageous
• Able to commute to Bury three times a weekHappy with regular UK travel and overnight stays
• Full UK driving licence
