Interim Accounts Payable AssistantLocation: Manchester City Centre
Salary: Up to £30,000 pro rata
Contract: Interim (3-6 Months, with potential extension)
Working Pattern: Full Time, Hybrid Available

The OpportunityAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join a busy and fast-paced finance team based in Manchester City Centre. This interim role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and has strong experience processing supplier invoices, particularly stock invoices.Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring supplier accounts are maintained accurately, payment deadlines are met, and queries are resolved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes.
• Matching, batching and coding invoices against purchase orders.
• Handling stock invoices and investigating any pricing or quantity discrepancies.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving outstanding items.
• Managing supplier queries via email and telephone.
• Assisting with payment runs and ensuring accounts are up to date.
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and account information.
• Investigating and resolving invoice and PO-related issues.
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting requirements.
• Working closely with internal departments including Purchasing, Warehouse and Finance.

Requirements

• Previous Accounts Payable experience within a high-volume environment.
• Strong stock invoice processing experience is highly desirable.
• Experience matching invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes (GRNs).
• Excellent reconciliation and query resolution skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage a busy workload.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems.
• Experience within retail, distribution, manufacturing or stock-based businesses would be advantageous.
