We are seeking an experienced and visionary digital leader to join a major public sector organisation as a Deputy Director of Digital Standards & Inclusive Design. This is a high-profile opportunity to shape the future of digital public services, driving innovation, accessibility, service transformation and inclusive design at a national scale.

This role sits at the heart of digital transformation, leading the evolution of digital standards, accessibility frameworks and service design best practices across a complex public sector environment.

You will work with senior stakeholders across multiple organisations to drive end-to-end service improvements, champion inclusive and accessible digital services, and help create more joined-up, user-centred experiences for citizens.

The successful candidate will influence strategic direction, incubate innovative ideas, pilot new approaches and establish frameworks that improve the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of digital services.

• Lead the development and evolution of digital standards, accessibility frameworks and inclusive design principles.
• Drive end-to-end service transformation initiatives across organisational boundaries.
• Champion user-centred design and service quality improvements.
• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve public service delivery.
• Develop approaches for measuring and improving digital service quality and accessibility.
• Oversee a portfolio of digital products, standards, transformation and accessibility initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships across government, industry, academia, SMEs and innovation communities.
• Promote collaborative, product-led and service-led ways of working.
• Influence senior leaders and key stakeholders to embed best practice in digital delivery and inclusion.
• Pilot and scale innovative approaches that improve citizen outcomes.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Significant senior leadership experience within digital transformation, service design or digital government.
• Expertise in digital standards, accessibility and inclusive design.
• A strong track record of leading large-scale service improvement programmes.
• Experience building, motivating and developing multidisciplinary digital teams.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end service delivery and user experience design.
• Proven ability to develop and test innovative ideas within complex environments.
• Outstanding stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Experience promoting cultures of continuous improvement, experimentation and evidence-based decision making.
