SEND Teaching Assistant - Autism & Specialist Experience

Aspire People are recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across primary schools and specialist provisions.

This role is particularly suited to candidates who have professional experience supporting pupils with autism, complex needs, communication difficulties or other additional needs.

We are looking for candidates who understand that SEND support requires patience, consistency and the ability to adapt their approach to the individual child.

The Role:

* Providing 1:1 and small-group support
* Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs
* Helping pupils access learning and the wider curriculum
* Supporting communication and social development
* Promoting independence and confidence
* Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Adapting activities to meet individual needs
* Supporting sensory and structured activities where appropriate
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams
* Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback

The Ideal Candidate:

* Previous professional experience supporting pupils with SEND
* Experience working with autism / ASD is highly desirable
* Experience within a SEND school, specialist provision or resource base would be advantageous
* Confident providing 1:1 support
* Patient, calm and nurturing approach
* Strong understanding of individualised support
* Good communication and relationship-building skills
* Comfortable working as part of a wider education team
* Personal care experience is desirable but not essential
