Operations Manager - #2151251

About the role We are working with a growing engineering-led business to recruit a Service Operations Manager to take ownership of its Aftersales function.
This is a commercially focused role covering people leadership, customer relationships, operational performance, P&L and business growth. You’ll initially bring greater structure to processes and systems before driving revenue growth and developing the service operation.
Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Aftersales and field engineering team
• Take ownership of service revenue, margins and P&L
• Grow service and maintenance contracts and drive renewals
• Develop existing customer accounts and identify new opportunities
• Manage key customer relationships and escalations
• Improve engineer utilisation, scheduling and service delivery
• Set and monitor KPIs across performance, profitability and customer service
• Improve processes, systems and operational efficiency
• Analyse performance data and implement continuous improvements
• Work closely with Sales, Quality, Technical and other internal teams

About you We’re looking for an experienced Service Operations, Service or Aftersales professional who is commercially minded and enjoys building and improving a service operation.
You’ll ideally have:

• Service management experience within an engineering, manufacturing, automotive, transport or similar environment
• Strong people leadership and customer management skills
• Experience managing revenue, costs, margins and P&L
• A strong commercial and business development mindset
• Experience managing field-based or mobile engineers
• A track record of improving processes and operational performance
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership

Experience of service contracts, renewals, transport refrigeration or field service systems such as Joblogic would be advantageous.
