The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of our Capital Projects Department.

The postholder will support the provision of professional quantity surveying and cost management services across the Council’s capital programme and will assist in cost planning, financial monitoring, contract administration and reporting under the supervision of the Quantity Surveyors & Cost Controls Manager, whilst developing their own skills and experience towards professional qualification.

The postholder will also take on responsibility or assist the Quantity Surveyor for numerous projects and to work closely with design and project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure the projects commercially on track. The role also includes regular site visits and meetings for the review of the progress, valuation for interim payment, valuation of variations, re-measurement for final accounts settlement, etc.

The role would ideally suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is looking to push on with their career and become chartered through RICS, CIOB or other professional institutions.
