Procurement Support Officer

- Pay Rate: £16.85 per hour (PAYE)
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day per week in-office)
GMCA are looking for a proactive and organised Procurement Support Officer to join their Commercial Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration, customer service and stakeholder management skills who is looking to develop a career within procurement or commercial services.
The role provides vital support to procurement and contract management activities, ensuring efficient processing of purchase orders, invoices and procurement-related transactions. You will also support category management activities, supplier administration, spend reporting, and inbox monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement and contract management activities, ensuring compliant and efficient procurement processes are followed.
- Administer requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipting and invoices using procurement systems.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, including contact, banking and VAT information.
- Manage the organisation's purchase card processes, including administration, monitoring transactions and reconciliation activities.
- Collect and maintain procurement expenditure data to support contract management and transparency reporting.
- Act as a first point of contact for procurement-related enquiries, providing timely support and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Produce and maintain accurate records, documentation, correspondence and management information.
About You
- Experience delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience providing administrative support within a busy environment.
- Strong ICT skills and confidence using a range of business systems.
- Experience managing competing priorities and working to deadlines.
Desirable
- Working towards a CIPS Level 4 qualification.
- Experience of supporting procurement, purchasing or commercial activities.
