Group Commercial Financial Controller - #2132337

A leading organisation in Manchester City Centre is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their finance team on a 12month Fixed Term Contract. You will play a pivotal role in leading the financial management, controls, commercials & and strategic planning, while driving continuous improvements. You will have the chance to lead and develop a high-performing finance team dedicated to delivering effective outcomes aligned with organisational goals & a collaborative culture.

By leading external audits and producing statutory accounts you will uphold the highest standards of financial integrity. Additionally, you will spearhead change initiatives aimed at improving processes throughout the finance function. Working closely with other business areas you will support strategic rollouts such as productivity improvements while guiding integration of acquisitions into the group structure.

• Leading month & year end reporting, external audits and producing statutory accounts
• Lead, manage, coach and nurture a high-performing finance team that consistently delivers efficient outcomes in line with agreed performance targets.
• Oversee the production of high-quality actuals reporting and balance sheet management with an emphasis on accuracy, robust controls, and clear financial storytelling.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework for the company including standards for subsidiary controls and transfer pricing.
• Lead external audit processes for the Group and produce statutory accounts of the highest quality.
• Maximise cash management and long-term invested funds through careful oversight and strategic decision-making.
• Supervise VAT processes ensuring optimal recovery.
• Champion change programmes and process improvements that enhance efficiency across all finance operations.
• Guide the team in producing medium-term financial plans, budgets, forecasts while influencing business decisions through insightful analysis.

What you bring:

To excel as Group Commercial Financial Controller you will bring proven experience gained from working within complex organisations or group environments where technical accounting standards such as FRS102 are applied.

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA is essential for this role ensuring technical proficiency.
• Demonstrated success in leading large teams coupled with excellent leadership abilities focused on nurturing talent.
• Track record of driving process improvements while establishing efficient robust controls across finance functions.
• Strategic thinking capabilities enabling impactful recommendations at board level that shape organisational direction.
• Experience in integrating acquisitions into group structures ensuring thorough due diligence processes are followed.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships across departments promoting connectivity between finance and wider business areas.
• Commitment to enhancing financial awareness among senior leaders through education initiatives that drive a culture of control.
