Dressmaking Machinist - #2119133

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established luxury fashion and couture business with the recruitment of an experienced Dress Machinist / Seamstress.

Full-time, permanent position. This role will be based in the company’s Manchester studio and is fully on-site.

Pay

Fully negotiable, depending on experience

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, typically 10:00am–6:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality made-to-measure and special occasion garments.
• Sew and assemble garments accurately to customer specifications.
• Operate industrial sewing machines, overlockers and other specialist equipment.
• Complete alterations and adjustments to garments where required.
• Follow patterns, pinning instructions and written sewing specifications.
• Work confidently with a variety of fabrics and garment constructions.
• Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy and defects.
• Maintain consistently high standards of stitching and finishing.
• Manage workloads effectively to meet production deadlines.

Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Dress Machinist, Seamstress or in a similar specialist dressmaking role.
• Strong experience within dressmaking and garment alterations.
• Previous experience producing special occasion or made-to-measure garments.
• Excellent machine sewing and overlocking skills.
• Strong understanding of different fabrics and appropriate handling techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
