About the RoleWe’re representing a modern, award-winning and cloud-based accountancy practice based in Greater Manchester. The firm works closely with entrepreneurs and growing businesses, providing high-quality accounting, tax and financial insight to help clients grow profitably and efficiently.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Client Accountant to join their collaborative and forward-thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who wants to develop their technical skills, take ownership of client work and progress their career within a modern practice environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accounts, corporation tax returns, management accounts and accountant’s references through to review stage
- Review director self-assessment tax returns and client-prepared VAT returns
- Manage complex client queries and provide clear, commercially focused solutions
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and flag potential scope creep to the Client Manager
- Review VAT returns prepared by Accounting Technicians and provide constructive feedback on bookkeeping errors
- Ensure client work is completed accurately and submitted within relevant deadlines
- Deliver delegated Xero and Dext training to clients and colleagues
- Conduct regular client reviews and provide training, guidance and proactive financial insights
- Build strong, long-term relationships with a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial clients
- Contribute to the continued improvement of processes and client service within the practice
- Currently studying towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA or ACA
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Experience preparing accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax work
- Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software
- Practical experience using Xero and Dext within a practice environment
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities to add value
- Willing to learn, develop and respond positively to constructive feedback
- Proactive, driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
