Personal Assistant (Public Sector)
Location: Hybrid Working (3-4 days office based) Manchester Central
Rate: £16.46 per hour plus holiday pay / 37 hours per week
Contract: Immediate start until end of September
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Personal Assistant to provide dedicated support to a senior Director within a busy public sector environment. This is a fast-paced and demanding role requiring exceptional organisational skills, proactive diary management and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Director's day-to-day activities through comprehensive administrative and executive support. This role would suit an experienced PA who thrives in a dynamic environment, can manage competing priorities effectively and is confident in supporting senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Personal Assistant support to a Director-level leader.
- Manage a complex and demanding diary, scheduling meetings and appointments efficiently.
- Coordinate meetings and events, including booking venues, arranging logistics and preparing meeting documentation.
- Prepare, collate and print meeting packs and supporting papers.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Screen, prioritise and manage correspondence and meeting requests.
- Support the planning and coordination of senior leadership activities.
- Ensure actions and deadlines are tracked and followed up in a timely manner.
- Provide general administrative support, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Anticipate future requirements and proactively identify solutions to support effective workload management.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a Personal Assistant supporting senior leaders at Director level.
- Experience operating within a fast-paced and complex organisational environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex diaries and coordinating high-level meetings.
- Experience preparing documentation and providing comprehensive administrative support.

- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative to manage competing demands.
- Strong forward-planning skills with the ability to anticipate future requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
