This year will see us enhance our product offering (energy measurement & analysis, Auditing, training etc) around a business all round utility spend, providing customers with products, but more importantly services that will allow them to become more energy efficient and ultimately reach net zero.
What you will be doing as a Operations Support Engineer
The Operations Support Engineer plays a key role in supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the business by bridging engineering, warehouse and production activities. The role is responsible for ensuring warehouse operations run smoothly, maintaining equipment and facilities, supporting production requirements and undertaking engineering tasks where required.
This position provides operational flexibility, improves responsiveness across departments and enables engineering resources to remain focused on technical development, customer support and revenue-generating activities.
Key Responsibilities- Operations Support Engineer
Warehouse Operations:
- Support the day-to-day operation and organisation of the warehouse.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock organisation and storage.
- Receive, inspect and book in deliveries.
- Prepare, pick and dispatch customer orders accurately and on time.
- Assist with stock control, cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is maintained and available for use.
Production Support:
- Assist with production scheduling and material availability.
- Support assembly, testing and preparation of products as required.
- Ensure production areas remain organised, safe and efficient.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve operational issues.
Maintenance & Facilities:
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance of company equipment and machinery.
- Respond to minor equipment faults and coordinate repairs where necessary.
- Maintain tools, workshop equipment and testing equipment.
- Support the upkeep of company facilities and infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Engineering Support:
- Assist engineering staff with assembly, testing and installation activities.
- Support prototype builds, product modifications and technical investigations where required.
- Provide customer support assistance for installations and service work as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Operations function.
Health, Safety & Quality:
- Work in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
- Ensure equipment inspections and maintenance records are completed where applicable.
- Support compliance with quality management procedures and financial audits.
Key Accountabilities - Operations Support Engineer
- Maintaining an organised, efficient and safe warehouse.
- Supporting uninterrupted production activities.
- Ensuring operational equipment remains available and well maintained.
- Providing flexible engineering support where business priorities require.
- Taking ownership of warehouse standards, equipment readiness and preventative maintenance.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Practical engineering or technical background.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or production environments.
- Ability to organise workloads and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience of warehouse operations and stock control.
- Experience carrying out equipment maintenance.
- Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
- Knowledge of ERP or stock management systems.
