Consula Group LTD

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation based in Manchester. With a diverse supplier base and an increasing focus on operational efficiency, this business is strengthening its procurement function to ensure it continues to source the right products and services at the right value, whilst maintaining the supplier relationships that underpin its day-to-day operations.

This is an organisation that takes its procurement seriously — not as a tick-box exercise, but as a genuine driver of business performance. You will be joining a team where your expertise will be valued, your ideas will be heard, and your work will have a direct and visible impact on the business.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Officer to join the team and take ownership of a broad range of procurement activities. From managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts to supporting tender processes and driving cost efficiencies, you will play a key role in ensuring the business gets maximum value from every pound it spends.

This is a role with real scope for the right person. As the organisation continues to grow, there is a clear opportunity to develop within the function and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the end-to-end procurement process for a range of goods and services across the business
  • Sourcing, evaluating and onboarding new suppliers in line with business requirements and procurement policy
  • Negotiating contracts, terms and pricing with suppliers to deliver best value and mitigate commercial risk
  • Maintaining and developing strong working relationships with existing suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews
  • Supporting the preparation and management of tender documentation, including ITTs, RFQs and RFPs
  • Ensuring all procurement activity is compliant with internal policies, legal requirements and relevant regulations
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders across finance, operations and senior leadership to understand procurement needs and priorities
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records, contracts and supplier databases
  • Identifying opportunities to consolidate spend, reduce costs and improve procurement processes
  • Contributing to the development of procurement strategy as the business scales

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a commercially astute Procurement Officer who is confident managing supplier relationships, comfortable negotiating contracts, and motivated by finding smarter, more efficient ways to source goods and services. You will be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the bigger picture.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing or supply chain role — ideally three or more years
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and value improvements
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and conducting supplier performance reviews
  • Familiarity with tender processes and procurement documentation
  • Good working knowledge of contract management and commercial risk
  • CIPS qualification (full or part-qualified) is desirable but not essential — relevant experience will be equally considered
  • Proficiency with procurement or ERP systems and strong general IT skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organisation is a strong advantage

What Is on Offer

  • Salary of £37,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working with flexibility around office attendance in Manchester
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment where your expertise is genuinely valued
  • Real opportunity to shape and develop the procurement function as the business grows
  • Career progression and development as the organisation continues to scale
  • A varied role with broad commercial exposure across the business
