Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging construction lessons to learners of varying abilities
  • Teach vocational and practical construction subjects
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress
  • Monitor learner attendance, achievement, and wellbeing
  • Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Maintain accurate learner records and complete required administration
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to continually improve teaching and learning

The Impact You Will Make

As a construction lecturer, you will play a vital role in equipping learners with practical skills, technical knowledge and confidence needed to succeed within the construction industry. Through engaging lessons and industry-informed teaching, you will inspire students to achieve their qualifications and progress into successful careers!

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in a Construction related discipline
  • Relevant industry experience within construction
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners from a arrange of backgrounds
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

  • Experience teaching withing Further Education or apprenticeships
  • Knowledge of current industry standards and health & safety legislation
  • Assessor and/or IQA qualifications
