The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading our 2 & 4 bed children’s homes. As Deputy Manager, you’ll help deliver outstanding care, lead staff, and ensure regulatory compliance. The Deputy Managerwill be required to have extensive knowledge of the following legislation: Children’s Act, Children’s Homes Regulations, and OFSTED Regulations (REG 40, 44 & 45).
The Deputy Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist all staff in day-to-day home management, providing leadership, identifying training needs and opportunities for professional growth as Deputy Manager.
- Implement and adhere to all relevant legislation for Children’s Homes (Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Care Standards and the SCCIF), driving continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and education with the team.
- Support all staff to ensure full compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, legislation and social policy.
- Ensure safeguarding, risk assessments and care plans are up to date.
- Work with multi-agency teams, families and professionals to ensure best practice.
- Undertake on-call duties as and when required to provide safeguarding escalation support.
- Support the Registered Manager in achieving positive outcomes for young people and maintaining regulatory compliance across the home.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care (E)
- Level 5 Leadership & Management in Children’s Residential Care (or willing to work towards) (E)
- At least 1 year in a Deputy Manager, deputy or senior role within a children’s residential setting (E)
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, trauma, Ofsted frameworks & DoLS (E)
- Full UK Driving Licence (E)
- Ability to deal with challenging behaviour from young people, especially those with EBD (E)

The location/work base for this Deputy Manager role may require you to work from multiple locations across Manchester/ Warrington. We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
