We are partnering with a large, fast-growing organisation to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Supporting a portfolio of diverse sites across the UK, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly established, dynamic HR team with genuine scope for longer-term opportunities within the wider group.

The Role

As HR Business Partner, you will support multiple operational sites across Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and the wider northern region. This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to operate at pace in a changing environment.

You will work closely with site leadership teams to drive people initiatives, support cultural alignment, and ensure HR practices are fit for purpose across a diverse and evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple sites to provide strategic and operational HR support
  • Support the delivery of people plans aligned to business objectives
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters (with complex cases escalated within the team)
  • Review and ensure policies and procedures remain relevant and effective
  • Drive initiatives around talent development, including apprenticeships and upskilling
  • Support reward and benefits reviews to ensure competitiveness and engagement
  • Contribute to HR projects, including culture and integration within newly acquired businesses
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive HR team to share workload and best practice

About You

  • Experience supporting multiple locations/sites
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities
  • Comfortable operating within a developing HR function
  • Passionate about improving people processes and culture

Sector experience is not essential — we are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds.

Working Pattern & Travel

  • Hybrid working with flexibility to work from home
  • Regular travel to sites required (typically 2–3 days per week, flexible approach)
  • Visits to all sites approximately once per month
  • Team meetings held every 6 weeks in a central location
  • Travel costs covered, including car allowance and mileage reimbursement

Benefits

  • £50,000 salary (flexibility for exceptional candidates)
  • £7,000 car allowance + mileage expenses
  • 33 days annual leave
  • 6% employer pension contribution (post-probation)
  • £500 annual wellbeing allowance
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Access to additional lifestyle and financial benefits

Why Join?

  • Opportunity to join a growing, well-backed organisation
  • Be part of a collaborative, people-focused HR team
  • Exposure to diverse business units and projects
  • Potential for longer-term career opportunities within the group
