Dovetail & Slate
Primary SEND Teacher
Salary: from £32,000 to £42,000
Employment Type: Permanent, Term Time
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:15-16:00
Start: ASAP
Are you a highly resilient, qualified educator driven by the belief that every learner deserves a pathway to independence? We are seeking two dedicated Primary SEND Teachers to join our inclusive educational community. Operating similarly to an alternative provision or PRU setting, our campus serves primary-aged pupils navigating significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges alongside complex Autism (ASD) profiles.
This role is about much more than standard classroom delivery; it is about being the architect of a child's stability and academic rehabilitation. Many of our young people face extensive learning barriers and require a robust, structure-driven approach to positive behaviour management. If you are an educator who celebrates "every small win" as a monumental step forward, this environment will fully value your specialist expertise.
Benefits
- Access to a comprehensive induction pathway and continuous training in specialist SEN awareness, first aid, and safeguarding
- Work within a highly supportive, solution-focused team environment driven by a shared relational, therapeutic ethos.
- A stable Monday to Friday, term-time-only working pattern that protects your work-life balance.
Opportunities for internal advancement across our expanding regional specialist care and education infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver highly differentiated primary learning programmes across KS1 and KS2, focusing on early literacy, phonics, reading, and maths.
- Establish an exceptionally calm, predictable, and trauma-informed classroom environment utilising consistent sensory breaks and visual schedules.
- Identify specific barriers to learning through informal assessments and meticulously track academic and social-emotional milestones against EHCP targets.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised degree in any subject, alongside evidence of ongoing SEND or primary professional development.
- Understanding of positive behaviour support, proactive co-regulation strategies, and localised EHCP statutory processes.
Even if you don't meet every single criterion listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
