About The Role

We are seeking a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team based in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to work internationally on infrastructure and civil engineering projects related to high-tech logistics and automated distribution systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong civil engineering background and a proven ability to manage commercial aspects of complex, large-scale projects. You will play a key role in ensuring cost control, contract management, and commercial strategy alignment across international and UK-based initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for capital and operational expenditure.
• Manage contractual relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and partners across international sites.
• Provide detailed commercial reports and risk analysis to senior stakeholders.
• Administer contracts in accordance with NEC or FIDIC standards (as appropriate).
• Support procurement strategies in line with global operational requirements.
• Liaise closely with Engineering, Automation, and Operations teams to align technical deliverables with commercial objectives.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Member or working toward MRICS (Chartered Quantity Surveyor status preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a commercial role within civil engineering or infrastructure environments.
• Experience working on complex logistics, industrial, or fulfilment site projects (preferably automated facilities).
• Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement, and cost control procedures.
• International project experience and cultural awareness is an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Excel, project management software, and cost estimation tools.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
