Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Assistant to support the commercial delivery of its flagship contract with Avanti West Coast, one of the UK’s major intercity rail networks.

You'll play a critical role in supporting subcontractor management, cost control, and contract administration.

The role offers excellent career progression for someone with financial or commercial experience in the facilities management, construction, or infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing monthly valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
• Maintain cost trackers and budget forecasts across multiple workstreams.
• Support subcontractor management: applications, payments, reconciliations, and queries.
• Help produce internal and client-facing commercial performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with internal governance and contract-specific procedures.
• Provide administrative and documentation support to the commercial and project teams.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in a commercial support, finance assistant, or QS assistant role, ideally in FM, rail, utilities, or construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Detail-driven with a proactive approach to solving problems and managing deadlines.
• Clear communicator, capable of liaising with subcontractors, site teams, and senior managers.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts or similar frameworks is advantageous (training provided).
