Business Development Manager – Battery Storage

Location: Manchester

Starting Salary: Up to £55K and uncapped commission

Summary

Our client is a fast-growing provider of battery storage units ranging from 90KWh to 1MWh supplying into the commercial, industrial, construction and utilities markets across the UK. They are on the market looking to add an experienced Business Development manager to their team. Someone with experience within the Battery Storage sector is preferred but our client will take someone from a power generation background who has a slight understanding of Batter Storage.

You will work on a range of projects across different sectors. Your input will directly contribute to delivering to our customers and also support the success and growth of the business.

As a key part of the sales team, you will contribute to the following activities, however these are not limited and at times you may be required to carry out additional duties.

Duties

  • Identifying new business opportunities, creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
  • Building relationships with new and existing clients, gauging their needs and creating proposals, quotes and prices to address these needs.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients.
  • Communicating with clients clearly and addressing their concerns, resolving any issues or conflicts are they arise, and managing expectations appropriately.
  • Create sales forecasts and proactively work towards them reaching them.
  • Use of internal bespoke software to provide quotes and pricing for customers.
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships with multiple existing clients.
  • Interpret information and data in different formats and layouts.
  • Make a minimum of 50 sales calls per week to prospective clients.
  • Conduct 8 customer site visits per week to build and maintain relationships.
  • Generate 5-10 customer enquiries each week.
  • Achieve a 10% growth rate on each current account through upselling and cross-selling annually.
  • Prepare and send detailed monthly reports to customers, highlighting performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to represent the company and generate leads.
  • Keep up to date in latest training and product knowledge.
