About The Role

There is now a Fantastic opportunity for dedicated Senior Residential Practitioner to join our ever expanding Residential Childrens Home provisions within the Manchester area

ForeverCare Provide person centred support and care for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements.

Our Senior residential Practitioner will be responsible for the overseeing of each shift and will provide first line management and supervision to the Residential Practitioner on duty to ensure that children and young people within residence receive the best care and support possible. The Senior residential practitioner will report directly to the Deputy Manager & Registered Manager.

Person Specification / Requirements

To work within this role you must:

  • Have a minimum of 1 years experience in a Senior / Team leader role. Residential Childcare experience is Desirable but Senior & Team Leader experience in other Health & Social Care environments will be considered.

Most Desirable Qualifications

level 3 Diploma in Social Care (0-18 year olds) Will require no further NVQ .

Next Desirable Qualifications

level 3 Diploma in Adult social care (Will require doing 3 units of Residential Care level three NVQ)

No Qualifications requires full level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare (17 Units)

  • Be Committed to achieving the best for children and young people
  • Be able to prioritise work load and duties
  • Be experienced in leading and delegating to the team on duty
  • Be confident in regard to decision making and accountability
  • Be able to work towards achieving the best outcomes of children and young people in line with the Care Quality Standards
  • Have an understanding of Care Plans, Risk Assessments and completing these documents
  • Have an understanding of the Care Quality Standards and The Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015
  • Be able to Safeguard and protect the wellbeing of children and young people at all times and ensure that Residential practitioners carry out their duties appropriately at all times.
  • Be able to supervise and carry out 1:1 practise based supervision to team members on an ongoing basis
  • Work collaboratively with other Senior practitioners and management to ensure the service meets the required standard
  • Act in the absence of the Homes Registered Manager & Deputy Manager and seek approval when required
  • Work as a valued member of the Team at all times
  • Be willing to complete training as required
  • Be willing to enrol on the Level 3 Diploma Children and young peoples workforce (if not already held or enrolled)
  • Follow Company Policy & Procedure at all times and ensure staff team members conduct themselves appropriately
  • Be confident in challenging inappropriate practices and standards and have a thorough understanding of Safeguarding Procedures.
  • Be able to communicate professionally both with staff members and professionals
  • Be outgoing, caring, and compassionate.
  • Be able to advocate for the needs, wishes, and views of the young people and children we care for.

About Us

In our Residential Children's homes we offer care for vulnerable young people aged 5 and above. We currently have 7 registered children's homes with Ofsted. These young people are vulnerable and some can be challenging. It is ForeverCare's aim to improve the lives of these young people and provide care for them to keep them safe and improve the quality of their lives. Experience working in care is very important for working in our residential children's homes and having a NVQ level 3 is beneficial.
