Join our Network Service Operations team as Network Operations Engineer and help us transform DWP's datacentre and remote site network infrastructure.
Our DWP Digital teams use fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
We have several projects underway in Wi-Fi, On-Prem Datacentre and Cloud solutions that require skilled, self-sufficient, and determined engineers to drive improvements and good practices, as well as ensuring current legacy infrastructure remains stable.
You will provide support for incident and problem resolution and implement standard service management exercises. This could involve out of hours work.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organisation and 3rd-Parties suppliers.
You'll also conduct network monitoring and analysis tooling - e.g. BMC Entuity, Wireshark and NetScout

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and sometime collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer pay of up to £52,442.
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £12,345 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 25 days and rising to 31 days over time.
You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Experience of problem-solving, analytical skills, with the ability to think critically, creatively, and independently to solve issues.
- Excellent planning and implementation methodology.
- Experience of ITSM processes.
- Experience of and understanding of Network infra in Wifi, DC On-prem, Cloud (AWS/Azure/OCI), Next Generation Firewall, Load-balancing, and PKI technologies as well as experience with either Aruba Wifi/Clearpass or Spine and Leaf topologies/DC-VXLAN (Preferably Arista).
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tooling.
