As our next Night Receptionist, you will provide an amazing and heartwarming welcome to our guests, connecting with them, and ensuring their stay exceeds expectations. The role covers our two adjoining hotels: Novotel Manchester Centre and Ibis 96 Portland Street.

Job Description


We are seeking a dedicated and professional Night Receptionist to join our team in Manchester on a part-time basis. You will play a crucial role in ensuring guest safety, comfort, and satisfaction during overnight hours. This position requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.



  • Welcome guests, handle check-ins and check-outs during night hours

  • Process walk-in reservations and manage bookings via phone and email

  • Respond to guest inquiries, resolve issues, and address complaints promptly and professionally

  • Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately

  • Perform end-of-day system closures and administrative tasks

  • Conduct security rounds to ensure safety

  • Support night audit procedures using hotel management system

  • Generate and review nightly reports

  • Make decisions regarding guest and building safety during night shifts

  • Collaborate with other departments for seamless guest experiences

  • Maintain accurate records of activities and interactions

  • Assist with early morning breakfast setup as needed

  • Monitor and report maintenance issues

  • Coordinate with housekeeping for early check-ins

  • Manage lost and found items, documenting and securing them


Qualifications



  • Experience in night shift hotel operations preferred

  • Excellent command of English, verbal and written

  • Proficiency in hotel management software, preferably Opera Cloud

  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability

  • Outstanding customer service focus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software

  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Team player with a positive attitude
