Let Us Tell You a Bit About The Opportunity

You will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with payment transactions across the bank. You will play a key role in ensuring that payment processes comply with regulatory requirements, fraud prevention measures, and internal risk frameworks to protect the bank and our customers.

To act as an ambassador of the Bank’s vision to; Back more people to go for it in life and in business.

What will your day look like?

  • Analysing end-to-end customer journeys, assessing controls and defining enhancements
  • Providing SME governance and control guidance across Payment Operations
  • Collaborating with Risk, Finance and Compliance partners
  • Coordinating internal and external audits
  • Supporting the team with their RCSAs (Risk, Control Self Assessments)
  • Reporting monthly Payment Operations governance packs
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of new payment technologies and systems.
  • Stay updated with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging payment trends
  • Living the bank’s culture and risk culture – encouraging balanced risk decisions in all activities and requiring compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations; and
  • Ensure all mandatory training is completed within the required timeframes for your respective business line.

What do we expect from you?

  • Proven experience in payments processing within banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international payment schemes and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex customer queries with professionalism.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with payment processing systems and digital banking platforms
