We Build Recruitment are now looking to recruit for Fire Door Inspectors on behalf of our client, a long established specialist joinery company based in Greater Manchester.
Responsible for the accurate capture and recording of site information such as existing door conditions, corrective action follow on activity and measurements that are critical to the both the accurate pricing and successful delivery of projects. Providing the baseline information that the department needs to ensure that delivery happens on time and on budget. The Fire Door Inspector is an integral part in key role in the overall success of the department and wider business.
- Carry out formal door condition reports in line with the BM Trada Q Mark certification scheme, which includes an intrusive / architrave survey, where required by the client, and upload into Boris.
- Carry out a production site measurement exercise for new doorsets and associated products such as side screens, fanlights and over panels, and upload into Boris.
- Upon request, carry out a material checklist of maintenance door components, make note of associated site conditions such as floor levels, humidity and moisture levels, and add into the produced final report.
- Generate data, produce and format all reports for door surveys, including executive summary, for submission to the Technical Director, ahead of client quotation submission.
- Ensure all site visits are recorded in BORIS, adherence to real-time BORIS paperwork workflow requirements, photo completions and the successful return and upload of field-based documents within agreed SLAs.
- Prior to Survey, review client information available such as O&Ms and manufacturers installation instructions to define gaps, working in conjunction with the Technical Director along with both the estimating and site teams.
- Work closely with the Planning Team to report back on levels of site completeness, advising on any reattends required, no accesses and the reasons for any site concerns highlighted.
- Attend tender / quotation handover meetings to operations team, where required, to gain full understanding of upcoming project specific requirements.
- Work with the site management teams, undertake inspections in a ‘live job’ environment, to provide critical site survey information that may not have been captured at the initial handover stage, and which is critical to the successful delivery of the project or new phases.
- Keep abreast of industry related updates and changes to required Certification, Legislation and Regulatory updates, as well as general Construction and Joinery.
- Undertake role specific training.
