Construction Manager (Mechanical and Electrical Bias) – Aviation – Manchester
Location: Manchester Airport (5 days on site)
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Rate: £64.22 p/hour Inside IR35
Hours: 40 per week
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong Mechanical and Electrical bias to join a high-profile aviation project based at Manchester Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major capital projects, supporting the successful delivery of key infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Construction Management support across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate activities between subcontractors, project delivery teams, and stakeholders.
- Act as Manchester Airport Group’s day-to-day site representative, ensuring that contractor activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
- Monitor site progress through regular inspections and site visits, ensuring works align with contract documentation and project timelines.
- Maintain exceptional standards in safety, quality, cost control, programme delivery, sustainability, and compliance.
- Build and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advocate for and enforce local health and safety rules and regulations.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualified in a relevant field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in construction management, preferably within aviation or similar complex environments.
- Strong Mechanical and Electrical experience, particularly with systems such as substations, runway cabling, and airside requirements.
- Proficient in NEC Contracts; experience as an NEC Supervisor or Clerk of Works is highly desirable.
- Must be local to Manchester or willing to commute 5 days a week to site.
- Security clearance for airport operations is required.
