Join us as a Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst! The purpose of the BUK Risk Strategy team is to drive value through appropriate Risk Management of relevant credit risk analytics and strategies for the portfolios allocated. This role will involve producing necessary MI and deep-dive analysis to arrive at appropriate conclusions. This will be required to present these conclusions at appropriate forums. You will also need to drive a culture of continuous improvement and maintain an effective working relationship with stakeholders across functions and locations.

Purpose of the role
To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.
Accountabilities
To be successful as a Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst you should have experience in:
- A degree in an analytical/business related discipline
- Ability to generate insights from data, assess the commercial / financial impact and recommend action
- Experience analysing programmes through the lens of risk management
- Understanding of statistical methods to enable appropriate interpretation of results
- Comprehensive knowledge and effective use of analytical tools including SQL and SAS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with risk reporting and risk management models.
- Conceptual thinking – find innovative ways to solve analytical problems
- Ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines
- Team work – Commitment and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent story
- Post-graduate degree
- Extensive experience analysing programmes through the lens of P&L and customer metrics.
- Familiarity with segmentation tools and strategies.
- Industry knowledge (ideally experience with major international financial services firm)
- Effective stakeholder management skills

Purpose of the role
To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.
Accountabilities
- Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
- Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.
- Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
- Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.
- Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits. Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.
- To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
- Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise
- Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
