Cloud Platforms Administrator - 18 Month FTC

Location: Manchester - Office one day per week

At Salix, we're committed to helping drive the UK's transition to net zero. Established in 2004, we operate with a team of over 200 professionals and are wholly owned by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Our mission is to inspire and empower organisations across the UK to meet ambitious decarbonisation goals, creating sustainable environments where people live and work.

We deliver vital funding schemes to public and private sector organisations—from councils and schools to housing associations and universities—to improve energy efficiency, alleviate fuel poverty, and reduce environmental impacts. Our work involves more than funding; we provide expert advice, professional support, and share insights to enhance project successes and policy development.

If you share our passion for tackling climate change, we offer a career full of impact, opportunities, and innovation.

Role Overview:

Salix is excited to announce two new Cloud Platforms Administrator roles within our Data, Technology, and Workplace (DTW) team. This is your chance to shape and optimise the cloud technology platforms that enable our operations. Working with platforms like Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft 365 you'll play a key role in delivering seamless cloud-based solutions that support our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support core cloud platforms, focusing initially on NetSuite and M365

  • Deliver high-quality application support and manage permissions, configuration, and user access.

  • Resolve technical issues by accurately documenting and managing user tickets with tools like Jira or Service Desk Plus.

  • Support ERP/CRM platforms across their full lifecycle, from deployment to retirement.

  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure platforms meet and exceed service criteria.

  • Enable continuous improvement initiatives and problem resolution.

  • Enhance user functionality with automation tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Advanced Excel, or PowerApps.

  • Collaborate on enterprise-scale data migrations or transitions.

  • Provide workplace training and documentation to empower employees in using cloud platforms effectively.

  • Maintain platform security, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

About You:

You’re a proactive, solution-oriented professional with a track record of working across cloud platforms in dynamic environments. You communicate technical concepts with clarity to non-technical teams and thrive on collaborating with stakeholders at all levels. A passion for leveraging technology to drive cleaner, more sustainable operations is a big plus!

Skills and Experience:

To excel in this role, you’ll need the following skills or knowledge:

  • Hands-on experience administering NetSuite and/or Salesforce platforms.

  • Competency with Microsoft tools like SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

  • SQL DBA and Azure-hosted service management skills are a bonus.

  • An understanding of IT service methodologies (e.g., ITIL) and information security best practices.

  • Proven ability to deliver technical solutions tailored to business needs.

  • Stakeholder engagement skills at all organisational levels, including senior executives.

Why Join Us?

At Salix, we value our people as much as our mission. From fostering an inclusive culture to offering tailored training and progression opportunities, we’re committed to seeing our employees thrive. We are proud holders of Investors in People and Carbon Literacy accreditations, embodying our dedication to sustainability and best-in-class employee engagement.
