Licensing Specialist 
£25,160 - £29,600 plus great benefits (Work Level 6B) 
Manchester city centre, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and coming into the office twice a week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy ).  

We’re looking for a Licensing Specialist to join our Licensing team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

Our Licensing team look after the licensing for all stores and all products that need a licence. This can be anything from alcohol and cigarettes, to coffee and fish. Without a licence, we can’t sell them. As a Licensing Specialist, it’ll be up to you to be a subject matter expert for our colleagues, internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, supporting them with all things to do with licensing. It’s a big role, and a great experience for you to develop your skills while gaining valuable exposure to lots of different areas teams, colleagues and external partners.  

What you’ll do

• Plan and organise your workload and the workload of the team to make sure key objectives are delivered 
• Resolve complex issues around licensing, and make decisions in line with subject or technical specialism, providing customers/colleagues with the information and understanding they need
• Build and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers and/or suppliers
• Mentor colleagues by sharing knowledge and experience in order to improve overall team effectiveness
• Support team performance through coaching, quality assurance activity and additional training 
• Make sure that processes are followed and look for opportunities to drive effectiveness through continuous improvements
• Drive service improvement through continual review of performance, opportunities and evolving technology to increase value for our Co-op

This role would suit people who have

• Great communication skills 
• Admin experience and a high level of attention to detail 
• The ability to work to deadlines and effectively balance competing priorities 
• A real focus on providing great customer service 
• Good general IT skills with the ability to use programmes in the Microsoft Office Suite at a proficient level (Word, Excel, Outlook)
