An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Data Insights and Intelligence team as a Data Insights Analyst serving the North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) Charity. The role will sit within the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) as an employer, with workstreams, core relationships and commitments sitting with NWAA.
The successful candidate will develop and support the core analytical activity of clinical and operational performance for the charity. They will be responsible for building, managing and delivering a suite of standard and ad-hoc reports to inform NWAA stakeholders, supporting the charity to provide their vision and purpose.

Main duties of the job
This post requires information analysis and report building skills to meet the detailed and varied information and reporting needs of the Charity, with data insights and story being delivered through clear visualisation and coherent explanation. Engagement with stakeholders will be a leading factor in the role to understand and supply the data requirements of the organisation. The post holder will have experience with TSQL, SQL Server Reporting Services and PowerBI. They must also be an experienced user of Microsoft Office tools and software. The successful candidate will be educated to or working towards degree level or prepared to undertake relevant study. The post will be based in Manchester, with an expectation to travel between the core NWAA sites (Barton and Blackpool). Further travel to other sites across the North West may also occur. About us
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Evidence of further personal development
- Understanding of NHS Information Governance agenda including requirements of the data protection act, computer misuse act, freedom of information and the requirements of caldicott
- Understanding of the importance of data quality
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of databases and spreadsheets
Experience
- Experience in an information or data analytics role
- Data analysis and report writing
- Proficient in programming language such as SQL, R or Python
- Proficient in the use of statistical methods and tools
- Working within a team
