Position: Ocean Import Operator



Working closely with a focused logistics and transportation company that specialises in providing comprehensive import and export solutions. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ocean Import Operator to join our clients team.



Job Overview:



As an Ocean Import Operator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the ocean import process to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods. This role requires a strong understanding of customs regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.



Key Responsibilities:




  1. Coordinate and monitor the entire ocean import process, from booking to delivery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.

  2. Communicate effectively with overseas agents, shipping lines, and customs brokers to facilitate the timely and accurate movement of cargo.

  3. Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists, to ensure accuracy and compliance with customs regulations.

  4. Coordinate with customs brokers to clear shipments through customs and resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process.

  5. Track and update shipment status in the company's systems, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers.

  6. Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to address customer inquiries and provide excellent service.

  7. Resolve any transportation or logistics issues that may arise during the import process, working proactively to find solutions.



Qualifications:




  1. Previous experience in ocean import operations or a similar role within the logistics industry.

  2. Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international trade practices.

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

  5. Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for tracking and managing shipments.
