Family Contact Worker



Manchester



Umbrella Pay- £18.73 per hour



04/03/2024 – 3 months initially



Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am – 6.30pm, 35 hrs/week – Office based



Our client are seeking a Family Contact Worker to join a team based in Manchester.




  • Direct work with Children, Young People and their Families

  • Work alongside a district social worker team

  • Facilitate and supervise family time with looked after children and their families

  • Make an observation of the family time for social workers assessment

  • Work with the families to resolve any behavioural and emotional issues that may arise from Contact

  • Immediately report and record any safeguarding concerns

  • Provide advice and guidance to parents where needed on things such as child development, guidance on play

  • Provide transportation to and from contact where necessary

  • Build strong and trusting working relationships with the children, families and all staff

  • Transporting children to and from family time, travelling to family venues close to where children are placed outside on Manchester

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of Child Protection procedures and principles and MCC social work procedures relating to court proceedings

  • Ensure that the Child’s Contact Record is complete with sufficient information

  • Maintain records of work and write reports

  • Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary



Requirements




  • Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance

  • Recent extensive experience working with vulnerable children and families

  • Good understanding of Child development

  • General understanding of child protection procedures and principles and social work procedures relating to court proceedings

  • Understanding of The Assessment Framework and how their role will contribute to assessments completed under this Framework

  • Must have a nurturing approach

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Enhanced Child and Adults DBS registered to the update service
