Location: Manchester (3 Days Working from Home)

A leading UK law firm is looking to recruit a Personal Injury Claims Handler to join its specialist team dealing with pain-related claims. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience handling MOJ personal injury claims who is looking to develop their expertise in a niche and increasingly important area of law.

You will manage a caseload of predominantly pain-related claims from instruction through to settlement, working proactively to secure the best possible outcomes for clients. The role will involve applying the Serious Injury Guide and Rehabilitation Code where appropriate, encouraging early collaboration and effective case planning.

The Role

You will manage a caseload of MOJ and Intermediate Track motor claims, with support and supervision from experienced colleagues. Your responsibilities will include:

• Progressing claims efficiently and pursuing all relevant heads of loss to maximise damages for clients
• Obtaining and scrutinising medical and other evidence to establish liability, causation and quantum
• Continually assessing prospects of success and escalating cases where appropriate
• Identifying vulnerable clients and considering capacity issues where relevant
• Maintaining regular, empathetic communication with clients and building strong relationships
• Managing court directions, deadlines and diary entries effectively
• Discussing liability and quantum offers with relevant parties, using telephone communication wherever possible
• Instructing Counsel and attending conferences or hearings when required
• Ensuring clients are properly advised on fraud and fundamental dishonesty
• Supporting internal projections and contributing to the wider team

About You

You will have experience handling personal injury claims, either managing your own caseload or supporting a Serious Injury Lawyer. Alongside this you will have strong client care, communication and organisational skills. A calm, methodical approach and a genuine desire to learn and develop will be key to succeeding in this role.
