About Brother

Brother is a global brand, delivering products and services to customers worldwide with manufacturing and sales facilities in over 40 countries and regions. Since being established in 1908 as a sewing machine repair business, the Brother Group has grown to be at the forefront of innovation in its history of more than 110 years. Underlying all activities is our “At your side” spirit, which always places our customers first.

We do this with a customer-first attitude and commitment to the circular economy, ensuring minimal impact on the environment through our “At your side 2030” vision and environmentally conscious approach.

About BIE

Brother International Europe (BIE) is the European Headquarters for the Brother Group. We work alongside 20 European offices and are responsible for shaping and supporting the pan-European strategy.

Our teams provide expertise across product, logistics, environmental strategy, IT, finance and operations. As an Investors in People organisation, BIE are committed to the growth and development of our people, reflected in how roles are designed and supported.

About the Role

As a European Environment and Sustainability Advisor, you'll help drive environmental and sustainability initiatives across Brother International Europe (BIE) and its European offices, supporting our commitment to responsible business practices and environmental excellence.

Working with colleagues across Europe, as well as customers, regulators, and auditors, you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, standards, and our Environmental Management Systems (EMS). You'll coordinate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting, support remanufacturing and toner collection programmes, and contribute to projects that reduce environmental impact and support our sustainability ambitions.

You'll also help shape how we respond to evolving environmental requirements, providing guidance to stakeholders and creating clear, engaging communications that promote sustainability and environmental best practice across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence meaningful change, contribute to long-term sustainability goals, and be part of a team committed to building a more sustainable future.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support environmental and sustainability projects that help reduce Brother’s environmental impact.
  • Coordinate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting across BIE and European Offices.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Create clear and engaging communications on environmental and sustainability topics.
  • Work with European offices to support sustainability initiatives, targets and customer requirements.
  • Monitor environmental legislation and policy, helping the business understand and respond to change.
  • Support sustainability reporting, action planning, and environmental performance monitoring.
  • Act as a key point of contact for environmental enquiries across BIE, European Offices and customers.

About You

We're looking for someone with a passion for sustainability who enjoys working collaboratively to drive positive environmental change. You'll bring:

  • A degree-level qualification in an environmental discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • A broad understanding of environmental and sustainability topics, ideally within a corporate environment.
  • Experience interpreting environmental legislation and working with regulators and auditors.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data and information clearly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across teams and countries.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

What’s on Offer

As well as a competitive salary, BIE offer a range of benefits:

  • Hybrid & Flexible Working options
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (plus option to buy 5 extra)
  • Industry-leading pension (up to 10% company contribution)
  • Life Assurance & health cash plan
  • Training & career development opportunities
  • Free parking, EAP, social events, environmental days & more
